日本(にほん)の都市部(としぶ)ではホームレスの数(かず)が比較的(ひかくてき)少(すく)なく、特(とく)に薬物(やくぶつ)中毒(ちゅうどく)のような問題(もんだい)行動(こうどう)をする人(ひと)はあまり見(み)かけません。

(2) 清潔(せいけつ)な環境(かんきょう)

日本(にほん)の町中(まちなか)にはゴミが少(すく)なく、特(とく)に生(なま)ゴミの匂(にお)いが少(すく)ないことが挙(あ)げられます。ゴミをきちんと分別(ふんべつ)し、適切(てきせつ)な場所(ばしょ)に捨(す)てる文化(ぶんか)が根付(ねづ)いています。

(3) チップが不要(ふよう)

日本(にほん)ではレストランやサービス業(ぎょう)でチップを置(お)く習慣(しゅうかん)はありません。サービス料(りょう)として別(べつ)に支払(しはら)う必要(ひつよう)はありません。

(4) 素晴(すば)らしいカスタマーサービス

日本(にほん)のサービス業(ぎょう)における顧客(こきゃく)対応(たいおう)は世界(せかい)トップと言(い)われることもあります。従業(じゅうぎょう)員(いん)は礼儀正(れいぎただ)しく、親切(しんせつ)な接客(せっきゃく)をしてくださいます。

(5) 静(しず)かなレストラン

レストランでは、大声(おおごえ)で話(はな)す人(ひと)が少(すく)ないように思(おも)います。一般的(いっぱんてき)に、周囲(しゅうい)への配慮(はいりょ)が重視(じゅうし)され、静(しず)かな雰囲気(ふんいき)が求(もと)められます。

(6) 犯罪(はんざい)の少(すく)なさ

日本(にほん)では銃(じゅう)を使(つか)った事件(じけん)が比較的(ひかくてき)少(すく)ないと言(い)われています。治安(ちあん)の良(よ)さが特徴(とくちょう)の一(ひと)つであり、安全(あんぜん)な国(くに)として知(し)られています。

(7) 道路(どうろ)でのマナー

曲(ま)がる時(とき)や車線(しゃせん)変更(へんこう)の際(さい)には方向(ほうこう)指示器(しじき)をきちんと使(つか)います。また、高速道路(こうそくどうろ)では追(お)い越(こ)し以外(いがい)では追(お)い越(こ)し車線(しゃせん)を使用(しよう)しないというマナーが広(ひろ)く守(まも)られています。

Features of Japan that are different from other countries

Today, I want to introduce some special features foreign visitors might notice and feel while visiting Japan.

(1) Small number of homeless people and drug addicts

The number of homeless people in urban areas of Japan is relatively low, and you do not see many people with problematic behaviors, especially related to drugs.

(2) Clean Environment

There is little to no garbage in the streets of Japan, and the smell of raw waste is barely noticeable. This is because separating trash and properly disposing trash is deeply rooted in the culture of Japan.

(3) Tipping is unnecessary

In Japan, leaving tips at restaurants and service establishments is not customary. Therefore, there is no need to pay a service charge separately.

(4) Excellent Customer Service

Customer service in Japan is often said to be the best in the world. Employees are courteous and helpful.

(5) Quiet Restaurants

Not many people talk loudly in restaurants. Considering one's surroundings is generally important, and a quiet atmosphere is preferred.

(6) Less Crime

There are relatively few incidents involving guns in Japan. This is because Japan is known as a safe country.

(7) Manners on the road

Turn signals are properly used when making a turn or changing lanes. It is also widely enforced on highways to only use the passing lanes for overtaking.
