In anime, the word "kakusei" is used when the main character awakens to a new ability. This word is used in the sense of gaining a new ability, not awakening from a night's sleep. When the word "awakening" is used in Japan, it is most often used to refer to the drug "kakuseizai."
In addition to "awakening," there are other words that are only used in anime. These terms are also known as otaku terms. Some of these terms originated on a message board called 2 Channel (https://5ch.net).
Here I would like to explain a few of those terms.
Guguru - Search on Google
Majiresu - Serious Response
Saba - Server
W - Laugh WWWWW - If you laugh a lot, it looks like grass is growing
Sutema - Stealth marketing (advertising that is not perceived as advertising)
Wanchan - One chance
Kuri Bocchi - Spending Christmas alone
Jitaku Keibi Shut-in or NEET - Staying at home all the time
orz - Disappointed... kneeling and bowing one's head
Warota - I laughed
Furiso - Free material that can be used on the Internet
ROM - Roaming only to watch and not to write
BBA - Babaa (a bad way to describe a woman)
KoY - Scary
HiY - Indecent
Arashi - Continuous posting of slanderous/defamatory posts on blogs or SNS
DQN - A term used to refer to people with arrogant attitudes, violent or insane behavior, or Yankees (delinquents).
Dhisuru - Disrespect
Many other terms were found on https://kw-note.com/internet-slang/nettoyougo/. Internet culture is interesting.
