Turntables

I'm sure everyone has seen the turntable in the center of a big round table in Chinese restaurants. Do you know the origin of the turntable? Where do you think it was made? Most people probably think it was created in China. In reality, the turntable was invented by Mr. Hosokawa, the founder of Meguro Gajoen, in 1932. Yes, it was invented in Japan.

As a side note, in a scene in the movie IP MAN 4, in San Francisco's Chinatown, the turntable that appears on the table was not invented in Japan at that time. If the table was invented in 1932 and sent to San Francisco that year, IP MAN would be 51 years old at this point.
