このニュースレターを書(か)いている2022年(ねん)の9月(がつ)時点(じてん)では、日本(にほん)国籍(こくせき)を持(も)たない人(ひと)が日本(にほん)へ入国(にゅうこく)をする場合(ばあい)、ビザが必要(ひつよう)になっています。また、ビザを取(と)る資格(しかく)があるのは、日本(にほん)に家族(かぞく)のいる外国人(がいこくじん)、日本(にほん)の企業(きぎょう)が渡航者(とこうしゃ)の身分(みぶん)を保証(ほしょう)する場合(ばあい)、ツアーガイドがいるツアーに参加(さんか)した場合(ばあい)に限(かぎ)られています。さらに1日(にち)あたりの受(う)け入(い)れは、5万(まん)人(にん)に限定(げんてい)されています。

ついに10月(がつ)11日(にち)からは、一般(いっぱん)の外国人(がいこくじん)がビザなしで日本(にほん)に訪問(ほうもん)することが可能(かのう)となるようです。それと同時(どうじ)に5万(まん)人(にん)の枠(わく)もなくなると言(い)われています。やっと日本(にほん)も開国(かいこく)ですね。

早速(さっそく)ですが、私(わたし)は10月(がつ)12日(にち)のフライトで日本(にほん)へ出発(しゅっぱつ)し26日(にち)まで滞在(たいざい)する予定(よてい)です。2年(ねん)半(はん)ぶりの日本(にほん)出張(しゅっちょう)です。日本(にほん)がどう変(か)わっているのか楽(たの)しみです。日本(にほん)滞在(たいざい)の様子(ようす)は、私(わたし)のブログならびにSNSで紹介(しょうかい)させていただきます。よろしければご覧(らん)ください。

Entering Japan Without a Visa

As of writing this newsletter in September of 2022, non-Japanese nationals must have a visa to enter Japan. In addition, foreigners with family in Japan, Japanese companies that guarantee a traveler’s status, and those touring with a tour guide are the only ones who are eligible for a visa. It’s also limited to 50,000 daily acceptances.

However, foreigners will be able to visit Japan without a visa starting October 11th. At the same time, they will also lift the 50,000-person limit. Finally, Japan will open its doors.

I’ve planned a business trip to Japan from October 12th to October 26th. It’ll be my first trip to Japan in two and a half years, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Japan has changed.
